After making a steady climb up the charts since its February release, Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy” featuring Charli XCX ascends from No. 2 to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week.
“Fancy” becomes the second song by a solo lead female rap artist to top the Hot 100 since Lauryn Hill’s 1998 hit “Doo Wop (That Thing).” In 2011, Nicki Minaj’s “Super Bass” came close, but peaked at No. 3.
To date, the song has sold more than 1.3 million copies in the United States alone.
