Kelly Rowland surprises fans with her new single, “Dirty Laundry” early on Wednesday morning.
Let’s just say this pile of ‘dirty laundry’ is a lot deeper than I had expected. On the revealing song, Rowland opens up about her bittersweet relationship with her ‘sister,’ seemingly former Destiny’s Child bandmate Beyoncé, all while spilling the details on a separate past abusive relationship.
“While my sister was onstage, killing it like a motherf***er/ I was in rage, feeling it like a motherf***er,” Rowland sings on the The-Dream-produced cut. “Bird in a cage, you would never know what I was dealing with/ Went our separate ways but I was happy she was killing it.”
Whoa, whoa, whoa. This song is amazing. Deep, emotional, controversial – everything.
“Dirty Laundry” is the second single from Rowland’s forthcoming studio album Talk a Good Game, due June 18th. Take a listen to the song below and let me know what you think!
The single will be available on iTunes on May 28th.
