Fresh off of the release of her new single “Lose to Win”, R&B vocalist Fantasia has announced the name of her forthcoming album – ‘The Side Effects of You’ – due in stores March of this year.
The LP is the follow-up to her 2010 project ‘Back to Me’, which debuted at number 2 on the Billboard 200.
As of last week, Fantasia was under fire after posting a photo on Instagram with a long caption that many interpreted as her being judgmental and denouncing gay individuals. She later issued a statement saying that her comments were taken out of context. On Tuesday morning (Jan. 8th), the ‘American Idol’ winner went on ‘The Steve Harvey Morning Show’ and said explained:
“I’m not going to peddle back and say I regret what I said because I think what I said, they took it and turned it into something totally different. All I am saying is, from day one the gay community has supported me. I’ve been to a lot of different prides. I’ve performed. Most of my friends and people on my team have supported me and they’re gay guys. So I don’t judge anyone.”
I’m glad that Fantasia was able to explain herself after everyone jumped down her throat. Hopefully, everyone will move on from this and and she is able to make a successful return to the music scene. I wish her the best and I’m excited for her new record, ‘The Side Effects of You’.
